I need some help. I want to go keyboard and mouse but the adjusting is a bit hard to swallow for me. I remember I own a razer tartarus that I never could get the thumb pad to work for in this game. Hey all, first off please go to the Razer website and look at the product otherwise the thread will not make sense. I would like to point out that this is a experiment and a review at the same time of the Razer Tartarus. I am trying to find out if it may work well for FPS games like csgo. If you did not know the Razer tartarus is like a little brother to the orbweaver and is meant for MOBA games such as League Of Legends. Back when I was a league of legends player I picked myself up one of these. I haven't played league for years and lost track of the tartarus. I was cleaning my floor-drobe (my twist on the wardrobe but on the floor) and I found it. I thought to myself that the buttons connected to the joystick like d pad might become useful for weapon switching. If you go to the Razer product page (link below), Razor brags that the d pad has 8 different directional buttons. This means if I key bind it with the Razer software bindijg the pad to make North it go to my primary, North East for secondry gun, East for Knife, South East for Flashbang, etc. Now in theory this would be very effective for weapon switching and just changing weapons in general. I tried it out but unfortunately the 8 way directional keys are to close and it was near impossible to have 8 different weapon slots because you would accidentally swap to your knife when you wanted to pull out your pistol. Therefor I went back to the drawing board, the whole purpose of using the Tartarus was to be able to switch to all of your slots with 1 finger and still being able to move forward/left/right. I came up with the conclusion that it was possible to switch to 4 different slots effectively. Using razors synaps 2.0 you can custom bind a key to make it act like a alt button. So I bound one of the keys on the Tartarus to switch to a different key map when held down and then let go it would switch back to the previous key map when let go. Therefor you were only using 4 different directions but had 8 different slots. Example is North is for primary, East for Secoundry, South for Knife and West for Zeus. Then when I'm pressing my Alt key North is for Flashbang, East for he grenade, South for smoke and west for Molotov/Incendenairy. This took a while to get used to but once I was used to it switching weapons and grenades was very easy, effective and more importantly precise. I only had 1 more problem but had a simple fix. There are 2 buttons, 1 above the d pad and 1 below. The 1 below is ment to be space. That would not work because bunny hop works well with the jump being scroll wheel. I changed that to crouch and the one above to walk. I found it very useful.

-Compared to a keyboard your thumb is not used much but with the Tartarus your thumb becomes VERY much used and important
-I have found out that you cannot switch weapons when you are crouched or Walking because your thumb is occupied
-you Need to have your keyboard in another position if you ever wanna type anything
I hope this made sense but otherwise you learnt something. I am sticking to the Tartarus and if you have ones I recommend giving it a try.
